When your foundations are shaking

"How shall we sing Jehovah's song in a foreign land?" (Psalm 137:4 A.K.J.V)

It is said that the stress of losing a job for some is higher than that of losing a loved one, divorce or separation. The threat of losing a job is scaring because for most people their whole identity is tied up with their job. They do not know how they can survive without it.

But "We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking only to learn that it is God shaking them."-Charles West. God sometimes shakes our foundations so that we can find him, or move in a different direction. The key is not to lose hope because God has good plans for us and will uphold us at all times. “Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23” Trust him in whatever circumstance and he will walk you through it.
