Taking away from others: no peace for the wicked

The great wave off Kanagawa

But the wicked are like the tossing sea, which cannot rest, whose waves cast up mire and mud.
“There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.” (Isaiah 57: 20-21)

(A.K.J.V)

If love is in your heart you cannot take what belongs to others or even harbor thoughts of depriving them of the same.  "You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, You shall not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, You shall love your neighbor as yourself"(Romans 13:9). This sums up the last five commandments as per the Law of Moses. Selfishness is the driver of much wickedness. It deprives people of the love and respect due to them from their partners, it takes away property that rightfully belongs to them and which often they have labored hard for, it takes away inalienable rights of self determination and liberty, it takes away the joy of life from the dead person as well as all who depended on them for love and care, and it takes away people’s dignity, esteem and good names which may be difficult for them to reclaim. And all these will never bring you any lasting happiness; your heart will not have peace.

Let us try not to injure anybody and give them their due whether it is royalty, service, or a good measure of our work. And let us always remember that loving God gives us the power to love others. He is also a provider and has rich stores of every good thing.
