You Must Master The Monster at Your Door

“If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it." (Genesis 4:15 N.I.V)

Are you living life on your own terms, serving God as it suits you? Cain had a hard sinful heart and could not be bothered to offer God what he desired: he grudgingly gave him some of his produce. God rejected his sacrifice and gave him a chance to repent and do the right thing. Instead, Cain compounded his sin by letting his jealousy for his brother (who together with his offering was approved by God) get the better of him. He killed his brother and was unrepentant on this action also and god exiled him from his presence.

Do you want to be accepted by God? Then you must master sin which is crouching at your door ready to devour you. You must master it, and God will help you do it through Jesus: if you choose to follow him.
