WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

Unleashing the Power of Praise

Praising the Lord

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."(Psalms 100:4 NIV)

Paul and Silas were severely flogged and thrown into prison for casting out the evil spirit of fortune telling from a servant girl, who the owners were using to make money. However, even in their pain Paul and Silas still had energy to pray and sing hymns to God while other prisoners; probably wallowing in self pity and bitterness, listened. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake which shook the foundations of the prison. All the prison doors flew open and everybody’s chains came off. (Acts 16:16-40). That is the power of praise.

God is happy when we show our faith and praise him by way of adoration, thanksgiving and sacred music no matter what our circumstances. It means we love and trust him and he responds by demonstrating his power. Let us unleash it.

"Our entire being is fashioned as an instrument of praise. Just as a master violin
maker designs an instrument to produce maximum aesthetic results, so God
tailor-made our bodies, souls and spirits to work together in consonance to produce
pleasing expressions of praise and worship. When we use body language to express
praise, that which is internal becomes visible.
