WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

The Glass Illusion

Is it a Rabbit or Duck?

“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2 N.I.V)

What do you see in the  picture above? Is it a duck or a rabbit? Perspective matters, and you should therefore take time to meditate on issues before you make a decision. Do not follow blindly what culture and the world around you teaches.

A story is told of a fly’s futile attempts to fly through a window pane. All its struggles to get outside were in vain and it died. This is despite an open door at the other end of the room it could have used. A transparent glass window can be compared to the values of the world which indulge fleshly desires like greed, selfish ambition and immorality. But no matter how much the struggle, they never satisfy and only lead to eternal condemnation.

We however do not need to struggle when the answer to life’s issues is clear; the door is always open. Through it you get love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

What we need is to be born again; to get a new, clear, and right perspective of life through the leadership and guidance of Christ.
