WHEN THINGS FALL APART

Cyclone

In this world we are faced by many situations that can result in severe stress, anxiety, fear, anger, frustration, grief, hopelessness and many other tumultuous emotions. These feelings can overwhelm us, ruin our health, and diminish our ability to move forward.

But when we trust God and seek His guidance, He helps us make our way courageously through uncharted waters. He gives us his peace; a calmness and joy that knows no understanding, so that we develop a better sense of control over our thoughts and emotions, allowing us to make good decisions and move forward.

“The cyclone derives its powers from a calm centre. So does a person.” Norman Vincent Peale.

The Word of the Lord bids us to be strong and courageous as we face the storms. “Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

In which storm will you trust the Lord for deliverance? Seek to have a calm centre and you will acquire the power you seek.

Focus on the Future

Congratulatory bouquet

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I am still not all I should be, but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven”. (Philippians 3:13-14 NLT)

What failures and successes did you experience this year?  The New Year offers a new opportunity for change or growth. We can make a fresh start or build on our successes.

God allows man free will to choose his plan of action. He therefore allows us to figure out the best course of action based on the wisdom, skills, experience and talents he has allowed us to have.

We need to excel in every area of our lives to the best of our ability as a way of thanksgiving for his favor; otherwise we diminish whatever we have been blessed with.

We need therefore to plan on every aspect of our lives; spiritual, physical, professional, social, financial, and so on. And in everything, we should always remember to seek God’s direction.

*****

Another fresh New Year is here …

Another year to live!

To banish worry, doubt, and fear,

To love and laugh and give

This bright New year is given me

To live each day with zest..

To daily grow and try to be

My highest and my best!

I have the opportunity

One more to right some wrongs

To pray for peace, to plant a tree,

And to sing more joyful songs!
