Don't let the city steal your soul

A City

“Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:8 NIV

Every day we have to make choices, and these choices define us. In order to resolve their conflict, Lot was asked by Abram, the uncle who had brought him up and mentored him, where he would choose to go. Selfishly without any regard to his uncle’s seniority and the depth of gratitude he owed him, he chose the better lands. He did not care that these lands were near the wicked Sodom or maybe he was especially attracted to the place because it was a place like Egypt where he had profited greatly.  Though for a short time he appeared to have prospered, even becoming a judge in the new land, in the end he was ruined. He lost his wife and his property, and the moral decadence ate at him, his daughters and future generations. He spent his last days in a cave!

Many of us live in places like Sodom, but we should hold our faith and not let the rot eat us up.
