The Synergy of Teamwork

Birds in Flight

"If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?" (1 Corinthians 12:17 N.I.V)

How well do you know, trust and communicate with others? Our fellowship’s Team building exercises proved to me how little we really understand, really listen to, or trust others. Many people do not take time to understand instructions so that they can do the right thing and often do their own things which detract from the common objectives. We have always complained that our youth were reluctant to participate in our fellowships and now we understand that this is in part because we have not taken time to listen to them and make them part of the team. We hope that we will move forward and transform our group with the new insights.

Everybody needs to be motivated to focus their minds on the group’s objective and listening to other people’s opinions like it matters will ensure that they also listen to your opinions and judgments. People sharpen each other and divide tasks to make it easier for each one. A cohesive group is more than equal to the sum of its parts.

It is a fact that in the right formation, the lifting power of many wings can achieve twice the distance of any bird flying alone. – Unknown
