God’s Megaphone to rouse us

pain

“During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.” (Hebrews 5:7 N.I.V)
A few days ago I woke up with my face all swollen and painful. I have not seen anybody else suffer a similar issue, but they must be there. As James Baldwin said, “You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, or who had ever been alive.” What we suffer or something similar, has been suffered by somebody else in the world and it serves to wake us up to our humanity, and its resolution makes us stronger and wiser. The Bible assures us “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13.

As a human being Jesus also suffered greatly- physically and emotionally just as we do. In every instance, he cried out to the Father and was strengthened. “For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help”. Psalm 22:24. Glory to his precious name

“Pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our consciences, but shouts in our pains. It is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” ― C.S. Lewis
