Victory is not a Lone Pursuit: Seize the Future together

Obama

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV)

Barack Obama in his acceptance speech expressed his gratitude to those who had helped him win and extended an olive branch to the loser saying, “we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people”. He invited the losing candidate Mitt Romney “to talk about where we can work together to move this country forward”.  This contrasts sharply with some leaders who seek to marginalize people who voted against him, thereby curtailing the country’s potential. A past Kenyan president said, “Bad politics, bad economics”.

In many situations it is wise to seek a mutually beneficial relationship with the “losers” and recognize that you can go further if you do not leave others behind.
