Taking a Grip on faith

Heavy load

“When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, your consolations delight my soul.” (Psalm 94:19 N.A.S.B)

If you enter a bus carrying a heavy load, you put it down and the bus carries you and the load. You would not be wise if the load remained on your back the whole journey. You would become tired unnecessarily.  Anxiety is like a big load on our backs.  And most of it is fear of things which may not even happen. We should enter the Lord’s presence and let him carry our anxiety on his broad shoulders.

We need not be anxious about life if we trust God. If we hope in other people and material things we will be disappointed. But we can put our trust in the Lord: our High Tower and Defense, our Rock and Refuge. He provides security and a safe haven because no one can surpass him or sway him.

“Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith”. - Henry Ward Beecher
