The Secret is Simple

“Indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord,  and find the knowledge of God.” (Proverbs 2:3-5 N.I.V)

It is important to simplify our lives by focusing on what is truly important to us. This frees up a lot of energy and increases our potential for success in the areas we have chosen. It reduces stress and preserves health.  Many people lack focus and spend a lot of energy on many insignificant things which have no lasting value. “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”(Colosisans 3:2).  We need to focus on understanding God’s message so that we can get wisdom, hope and encouragement for ourselves and others. Wisdom is received both through God’s Grace and an energetic search.

We need to pick our battles and not “sweat the small stuff”. We need to stay focused on the big picture; our main goal, the objective of our life, our future. We cannot do anything about what has passed, so we need to learn from our experiences and move on. Not everything is an emergency – Jesus chose not to hurry to sick Lazarus’ side because he wanted to demonstrate God’s power of resurrection. Sometimes there are other options. There is also a lot we cannot change or prevent – Jesus did not heal everybody during His time on earth.

“That's been one of my mantras - focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains”. Steve Jobs
