Strong Roots
by Fe Morallos

Strong Roots
”Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ” Colossians 2:6-8 : Colossians 2:6-8

Every plant has roots. Strong trees have stronger roots. They need nourishment from the soil to stay strong. As Christians, we need to stay rooted in Christ. This will give us life-giving strength through Christ.

The key word is in verse 6 is "strengthened in the faith." When things get tough, seek to learn from Christ His life and teachings. Seek His will for your life. Surrender your will, and seek only His will for you. Then you will be overflowing with thankfulness and your roots won't be chopped down by the enemy.

Prayer: Lord, I must admit that most of the time, I feel wavering especially during tough times. Help me to stay strong and to always be rooted in Your Word.
