Seeking God’s Face

Park

“Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.” 1 Chronicles 16:11 (N.I.V)

Seeking God’s face is to seek to know his character, and to receive his guidance. It is to learn what pleases him so that we can do his will. In Jeremiah 29:13 God promises, “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart".2 Chronicles 7:14 also tells us that seeking God “with all our heart” means humbling ourselves before him, praying, repenting, and seeking forgiveness for our sins. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Seeking God’s face continually means a deeper relationship with God; a life where we are fully reliant on God’s strength and power and joy. “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26 (N.I.V)

“The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature.” - Anne Frank
