The Lord Will Give You a New Beginning

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19 (N.I.V)

Proverbs 16:13 teaches us to commit all our plans to the Lord; “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Further than this we need to seek out God’s plan in our lives and ask him to help us achieve his purpose. God reveals such plans in various ways. Sometimes we are gently led towards this purpose through the talents and other blessings he has endowed on us. It could also be through a revelation like Abraham had which made him leave all that he knew to seek out a new destiny in a new place. However, oftentimes it could be through the loss of a loved one you depended on, a career or any other event that closes a former way of life and opens a window to another path. After her husband died, Ruth left all she knew to follow her mother in law to an uncertain future in foreign land. When we face various catastrophes in our lives, we should avoid prolonged mourning, pick up the pieces and move on in life trusting that when God allows for one window to be shut, he will always provide another way. His way may even be a wide open door we could not see before, as we lived transfixed on the open window we knew. Do not be too preoccupied in your wasteland that you fail to see your possibilities as the Lord sees them. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.^” Jeremiah 29:11(N.I.V)
