Putting the Foundations under Your Dreams

Castle

“For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words”. Ecclesiastes 5:3 (KJV)

You cannot achieve your vision by mere wishing or talking about it. It takes hard work to achieve success. You need to work at what you want with persistence, discipline, sacrifice, sound wisdom and faith. Talk is cheap, actions speak louder than words. Daydreaming or “building castles in the air” and too much talk detract on time that should be spent working to realize your dream. You need to lay down the foundations of your castles otherwise they will always float in the air; unrealized. Time does not wait for any man. If you leave it too long, one day you will wake up and find you have missed many opportunities and regrets will take the place of your dreams.

Many who talk too much try to convince others how good they are especially in comparison to others. Let your actions speak for themselves. Too much talk can also lead to slandering others and creating hostilities. If you use too many words you may also promise more than you are able to deliver to others and God. “When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.” Proverbs 10:19.

Words should be carefully considered. They should be well thought out. We need to think and do much, and say little. “He that has knowledge spares his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit. Proverbs 17:27

Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air. They are where they should be. Now put the foundations under them. - Henry David Thoreau
