The Lord Alone Is Enough

Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Psalms 23:1 N.I.V

A Sunday school teacher asked her children if anyone could quote the entire 23rd Psalm. A four-and-a-half-year-old girl was among those who raised their hands. A bit skeptical, the teacher asked if she could really quote the entire psalm. The little girl came to the front of the room, faced the class, made a perky little bow, and said, "The Lord is my shepherd, that's all I want.” She bowed again and went and sat down. What a great interpretation!

You will not want for anything if you have Jesus.

Food and water for your soul and body,

Wisdom and guidance,

Comfort and encouragement,

Courage and Power,

Favor in abundance,

Goodness and love,

The hand of God in your life will be evident to all,

And at the journey’s end,

The Prize of Eternal Life

*****

To know that nothing hurts the godly, is a matter of comfort; but to be assured that all things which fall out shall co-operate for their good, that their crosses shall be turned into blessings, that showers of affliction water the withering root of their grace and make it flourish more; this may fill their hearts with joy till they run over
