The Lord Needs You

vacancy

‘…“Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.’” Mark 11:2-3 N.I.V

Do you have unused potential like the colt ready to serve, yet nobody had sought its services? Jesus wants you for his great commission; everyone is invited because there is much work and the workers are few. What is tying you down and holding you back from service? Maybe there cultural limitations you need to overcome, you may be afraid of what people will say or that they will distance themselves from you. You might be having financial considerations in mind: you fear that your source of income will be lost like the rich young man (Matthew 19:16-30). Could it be that you are too timid and have no courage to stand out? Or could it be that you are not spiritually mature? You need to mature from taking milk to solid food. “I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.” (1 Corinthians 3:2) The Lord has chosen you. Take the courage of your convictions with enthusiasm and persistence. We learn by doing and sticking to the set task, no matter how difficult it appears. The mark of an effective Christian is the work produced by faith, labor prompted by love, and endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 1:3). Jesus wants you loosed and ready to work.
