Taking Charge

Girl on Mountain

“When all our enemies heard this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:16 (N.I.V)

Is there some important task that needs to be done but nobody seems able or willing to do it?  This might be your call to action. God has placed you where you are, at this particular time, with all the talents and skills you have for a reason.

Nehemiah was sad about the state of the walls of Jerusalem and decided to take action. He left his powerful position as the King’s cupbearer to guide, encourage and inspire others to build the walls. There were many detractors some who even said that foxes would easily bring the walls down, but he kept on because he had decided that it was the work of the Lord, and the Lord would be with him. Instead of listening to people, he stood firm and prayed. He instilled teamwork in the workers and they finished the work in a record fifty two days.  When the enemies heard this,” all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.”

Pray for God’s guidance as a first step in every venture that you undertake. Call for the Lord’s deliverance through every problem along the way, and you will accomplish seemingly impossible tasks through him.
