In God’s Word I put my Hope

The Bible

“I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.  I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning”. Psalm 130:5-6 N.I.V

A watchman waits for the morning, for then he gets relieved. He can then transfer all his responsibilities and get a rest. Where does your relief come from? There are many remedies and diversions which are offered by the world for the burdens in our hearts. But they are all vain promises. The happiness they offer is fleeting. They never truly satisfy and may sometimes do a lot of harm. It is only when you invite the Lord to come to you; that you will find rest. The Lord says in Matthew 11:28, “"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Let us then lift up our hearts to this great hope and our joy.

*****

“Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been betrayed, to those who still love even though they've been hurt before.”
