Wake Up and Clothe Yourself with Strength and Beautiful Garments

Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength. Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer. Isaiah 52:1 N.L.T

There are some people who sleepwalk. They walk around looking confused and dazed because they are not in control of their faculties. Are you awake to the Lord or are you still asleep, sad and gloomy like you are still in captivity? Are you still driven by the things of this world even though you feel pulled towards Christ? Rejoice in the power enfolded in your salvation: the strength and courage to resist and overcome evil; to earn to do good; to seek justice; to rebuke the oppressor; to defend the fatherless and weak; to plead for the widow and those in need; and to be right with God.

Why are you still so weak in your faith that a slight push from the enemy will floor you? Awake and put on the Lord’s strength. There are many levels of awakening. The blind man at Bethsaida had to be touched twice by Jesus to be fully healed. At first he could only see shadows. “Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.” Mark 8:25. Yes, the Lord touched you. But there is still filth in you, scales in your eyes. The Lord says your hands are still full of blood. Wash out every vestige of sin. You have fallen into the dust many times but the Lord forgives those who truly repent. Ask the Lord to touch you again, so that you can be truly awake. Wash and put on your beautiful garments of Christ’s righteousness.
