Mentoring Others

mentoring others

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” (2 Timothy 2:2 N.I.V)

Mentoring others is about sharing wisdom and experiences with others so that they are able to succeed more easily by avoiding mistakes. A good mentor is a role model who teaches, listens with empathy, and encourages.  Paul was a good mentor for both Timothy and Titus. Through their close friendship and companionship, he guided and counseled the young men to grow into effective leaders with sound doctrine and Christian character in order to ensure continuity in the Ministry after he was gone.

In every field in this life we need to act responsibly and mentor others so that they can successfully do the work and also teach others.  Every human being’s life is limited and the baton has to be passed to later generations. It is good when each work progresses forward with the benefit of the experience others had before, instead of having to reinvent the wheel all the time.

Let’s work at making a difference in other people’s lives: their careers, the way they live, and so on.  their faith It is one precious thing that can live after we are gone.

"The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own." Benjamin Disraeli
