Praise and Worship Using God’s Names

Niagara Falls Rocks of Ages Past

More mighty than a waterfall

“The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18: 10 (N.I.V)

The names of God reflect various aspects of His nature, character and his presence in our lives. They enable us to know Him better and therefore glorify Him in knowledge and in truth. They include El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty), El Elyon (The Most High God), El Roi (god who sees and cares) ,Adonai (Lord, Master) ,Yahweh(Lord, Jehovah) , Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner),Jehovah Raah (The Lord My Shepherd), Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals), Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is There) . Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness)  Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide),and  Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace)

Who is God to you? Is he El Roi, God who sees and cares and knows you by name no matter how lowly or highly others think of you? Is he Jehovah Raah, the good shepherd who leads you to green pastures and ensures that he comforts you by his rod and staff? In Psalm 18:2 we read,” The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

God is “the Alpha and Omega” the beginning and end of everything. May his name be praised!
