It is Never too Dark for the Lord

“If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” Proverbs 139:11-12 (N.I.V.)

One of the major expectations from our loved ones is encouragement to walk through the rough road of life.  “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” Hebrews 3:13NIV. However, many of us are often disappointed when there is little love and appreciation shown and especially during special occasions like our birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s day, Father’s day, Mother’s day, Christmas and Easter. At these times we feel down, like there is darkness all around and that we are all alone. However, we always need to remember that Christ is always walking alongside us, even carrying us when the going is rough.

It is not possible for any human being to meet all the needs of another one, and especially as regards happiness. Only God can. He has also given us many different people to fellowship with and we need to widen our circle. Often we feel unappreciated because we only focus on ourselves rather than God and others.  We need to mature in Christ and grow strong so that our joy comes from the Spirit of God that is within us. “Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed”. Hebrews 12:12-13 (NIV). Let the Lord heal all the discouragement.
