Recovering what the locusts destroyed

A swarm of locusts

“I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
the great locust and the young locust,
the other locusts and the locust swarm—
my great army that I sent among you. Joel 3:25 (NIV)

Swarming locusts appear like a cloud and have the potential of stripping the land of most of its green vegetation. They feed on the leaves, flowers, bark, stems, fruits and seeds of crops, and most of what they leave uneaten is spoiled by their toxic droppings.

Do you feel swarmed? When you face the death of a loved one, illness, divorce, job loss and other serious troubles, you feel emotionally, physically and spiritually drained. Sometimes you also suffer a series of problems: you lose your job and livelihood, then your marriage and close relationships, and then your health also goes.

In whatever situation you find yourself, you must keep on walking with the Lord. It is only in him that you can derive comfort and strength; to have a sense of joy restored in you. You should claim God’s power and restoration plan. In John 16:33 Jesus said, ""I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Through Christ you can bring blessing out of every problem, to both yourself and others.

When you feel that you have reached the end and that you cannot go one step further, when life seems to be drained of all purpose; what a wonderful opportunity to start all over again, to turn over a new page.
