Finding Time for God

A clock

“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:16

Have you ever considered how being busy all the time can be an effective tool for the devil to keep you away from the Lord? These days, people are busier than ever despite the technological advances aimed at making life easier. This is because we want more and therefore need to work more. Nothing satisfies us and we have no time to seek the only thing that can give us rest; knowing God.

Has your work or life’s passions dominated your life so much that you have no time to read and understand the bible and know God’s will?

Are you too busy to pray for God’s guidance so that you do everything in His wisdom rather relying on your own strength? Are you maintaining that vital connection with the Lord?

Are you too busy to be with your spouse, children, family members and friends? Are you fulfilling their emotional expectations or have you decided that giving them money or a call once in a while is enough? Do you ever have time to share the love of Jesus with others or is your life too busy fulfilling your wants and desires?

The things of this world will pass away, and only the gifts of love to God and others are of eternal significance. Do not let time pass chasing shadows or let the detractions of the evil one lead you astray.

Be still, and connect with the Lord.
