The Five Things God Expects from You

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” (Acts 20:28 NIV)

You were bought at a price; the blood of Jesus at the cross. Therefore you are not your own. Your duty is to serve your master. Everything you have belongs to him; your body and all possessions. There are five things the Lord expects from you.

These are to worship God in truth, love and honour; to learn the ways of God and become more like Christ; to fellowship with others, give and receive encouragement and support; to identify our gifts and talents and use them for the Lord; and to minister to others who have not been reached by the Good News. You are a shepherd for the Church of Christ; to strengthen and help it spread to the ends of the world.
