A Cheerful Heart

Woman Smiling

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” (Proverbs 17:22 NIV)

Happiness greatly influences the body; keeping you strong and healthy. Misery on the other hand wrecks havoc on the immune system and draws out all the energy.

Do you have joy in your heart or have you let the stress, anxiety, bitterness, grief and other sorrows crush the life out of you? Or could it be that you are desperately looking for real happiness in places that ultimately disappoint?

Our thoughts and attitudes should reflect the Christ who lives in us; in whose presence there is always hope, and joy that knows no understanding. Psalm 16:11 says “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”  You can have the gift of joy in spite of everything that may be happening to you. So, lift your eyes from your burdens and fix them on God’s promises. Let your life be filled with smiles, laughter and praise.
