The Greatest Gift to Family and Friends

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV)

We love our family and friends and recognize them as a gift from the Lord to make our lives easier. That is why at this time we celebrate with them and pass on our good wishes and gifts. But when it comes to the issue of salvation many of us are hesitant to speak out and point the way to Christ, yet this is the best gift we could ever give to anybody. This is often because some do not share the principles of our faith, indeed they might be highly skeptical, and we do not want to endanger our relationships by introducing controversy.

We need to find a way to reach out to others at this time; with a generous serving of the love of Christ. Let us pray that we get an opportunity to lead someone to the right path of Christ through every word we speak, and every other action. Our togetherness this Christmas may be the only opportunity we will ever have to do this and we may live with regret if we do not try. We should not be concerned with failure for we only need to light the spark, and it will be God who will finish the good work that has been started.
