THE GUIDING STAR

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”(Matthew 2:1-2 NIV)

The Magi were wise men knowledgeable in astronomy, religion, and medicine. They knew how to read the signs of the times and recognized Christ the King’s bright shining star. With the help of this guiding star, they traveled a great distance to find Christ. They were overjoyed when they found him and got the opportunity to bow down before him, worship him and give him their precious offerings.

Are you searching for God? Christ’s star is still shining and a way is always provided for earnest seekers. Read and listen to God’s word and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit for it is written, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV).  It is also written, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT).

With every step of your journey, look up to God and seek out his direction, and you will get to Christ and his salvation.
