The Song of Hannah

“He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness.  “It is not by strength that one prevails;” 1 Samuel 2:9

Hannah suffered great pain in a polygamous family where her co-wife Peninnah was able to have children, and she could not. Peninnah taunted Hannah with her gift not recognizing that it had been accorded to her through God’s grace rather than her own might. There is nothing that we have that has not been given by God and we should always be thankful.

Hannah was a prayerful, righteous woman who believed in the power of her God to intervene in her circumstances. God blessed Hannah by fulfilling her deepest wishes: totally silencing the cruel taunts of her co-wife. As it says in verse 6 of her song, “The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up.” There is nothing that the Lord brings to you that He and you cannot overcome for the Glory of His name.

What problems are you experiencing? Do not let them overwhelm you. The Lord is fully aware of everything that happens to every single one of us, and he is the repository of power.  Pray and trust in his amazing grace to transform your circumstances. Keep in mind also that the Lord may answer in unanticipated ways. Your difficulties are also a gift from God to help you grow into a deeper relationship with Him.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit". Romans 15:13
