Sleep like a baby

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”” Isaiah 30:21(N.I.V)

Are you sometimes confused as to the right path to follow? Usually this is a fight between what you know is right and what is more convenient, easier and more profitable. The right thing to do can be expensive in terms of time (it may take longer to do things right), ability of fitting in (being a team player), maintaining personal relationships (not rocking the boat), and also in opportunities to make or save money.

Everybody has a conscience which helps to differentiate between good and evil.  When you have a free conscience you feel comfortable and at peace that you have acted in accordance to your values and responsibilities. You feel at peace with God and man and you are able to sleep like a baby.

Acting against your conscience will give you feelings of remorse and regret. However if you do it often enough, you develop a hard heart as you let your will be governed by your human desires. You become corrupt. But, however hard you try to beat your conscience down; it will always resurface; destroying your peace and contentment. You will be shadowed by guilt and can never be completely happy with whatever you have obtained outside your conscience.

No matter what you do or the circumstance, heed therefore the voice behind you and walk in the path of the good. "Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water". Hebrews 10:22
