Three wise monkeys (Speak, See and Hear no evil)

"Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness.” ~ Romans 6:13 (N.I.V)

The story of Ananias and Sapphira ( Acts 5: 1-11) and their hypocrisy in wanting to look good to others while knowingly lying to them teaches us about how much God hates unrighteousness. The couple pretended to give all the profits from the sale of their land to the fellowship of Christians but dishonestly kept back some of the money. The wrath of God who sees everything was fast and furious.

There are many ways in which we can destroy our testimony about Christ and our actions speak louder than words. The  mistakes Christians make and especially when they are done willfully deter many from following Christ and lead others to stray.

Do your hands, feet, tongue, heart, mind, and all other parts of your body serve the Lord? Your body is the Temple of the Lord, and His law resides in us. Let our hands touch others in encouragement and comfort;  let our feet help us walk steadily in the way of the Lord;  let our minds think what is pure, let our tongue utter only what is true;  let our hearts  perceive the beauty of God’s creation and offer him thanksgiving and praise, let us keep our ears open for God’s will and act in obedience.

We should not yield to temptations of the flesh but must be steadfast in our faith; striving with all our strength and sacrificing anything in the world no matter how precious: if it gets in the way of our righteousness. “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” ~ Matthew 5:30 (N.I.V)
