Making a Difference

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 (KJV)

What is your impact at your work place? Do you try to blend with the culture or do you stand out? Are you gentle and slow to anger, honest, merciful, joyful, a peacemaker, diligent at your work and a good ambassador for Christ? Your character, conduct and conversation should speak for you. You should make a stand on what you believe and not put a bushel over your light. As you work with others, your life should be like a sermon and not led by principles of darkness such as greed, sloth, immorality and self preservation above all else.  You may be the only picture of Christ some people may ever know. God has put you where you are at this particular time, with those particular people for a purpose. So use all the opportunities you have to be a ray of sunshine bringing joy and cheerfulness, comfort and encouragement, and pointing out the right path. And do not let the fear of what detractors think, put you off.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.
