The Power of One

“For God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things and at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”    2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV.

When you give of yourself to others, God causes his grace to thrive in you so that all you do flourishes. He multiplies your blessings. “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." – Luke 6:37-38

Due to his mercy and favor, God has given us all the resources we need in order to serve him effectively. We should not belittle ourselves and what we have. Often small actions sow the seed for phenomenal changes in the world. Consider people who had the courage of their convictions and used their voices and actions to effect monumental changes in history.  Mahatma Gandhi believed in truth and total non violence and led his people to independence through mass civil disobedience. Rosa Parks refused to give up the rights to her bus seat to a white person and contributed greatly to the emancipation of black people in America.

When you are in Christ, you have all that you need to sow the seed of faith in people. The apostles were humble men, but the Gospel they preached has now spread into most parts of the world. Christ finishes the good work he starts through his servants; he maintains and grows believers to maturity in him. . You can do great works if you believe. Stick to what you believe and do the best you can. God will cause the increase.
