BLESSINGS "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26(N.I.V)

This Priestly blessing which is also called the Benediction was first given by the Lord through Moses to Aaron and his sons. They used it to convey God’s blessings to the children of Israel. Many churches use these beautiful verses as a priestly blessing at the close of a church service or in a wedding ceremony to bless the newly weds. It is commonly conveyed by ordained ministers. They stand in the place of Jesus Christ; our High Priest.

The verses remind us that our gracious Father’s wishes to confer to each and every one of us well being and riches in our lives. Riches do not have to be material things but also include family, friendships, relationships, experiences, and guidance. There are also spiritual gifts which enable us to fulfill our life’s purpose.  God also blesses us with his loving care and watchfulness.  He wants us to trust Him and freely receive his smile of favour and the peace of being right with him, and of course the promise of eternal life.The blessings of the Lord are bestowed through his son Jesus Christ.
