What is true love?

It is a decision; a commitment to another.

It is unconditional and not based on emotion.

It is not an obsession or passion.

It is being patient in the face of others weaknesses.

It is being generous and gentle and not stepping on others sick toes.

It is delighting in the success of others, and not rubbing ones success on other people’s noses.

It is unselfishness and not a fragile ego that bruises at every small slight.

It is not delighting in the tragedies suffered by others but seeking healing, justice and reparation.

It is persevering in doing right and in forgiveness of others, no matter where they stand.

It is a love like Christ’s, who we should all emulate.
