YIELD TO HIS COMFORT

“I will not leave you comfortless:

I will come to you”

John 14:18 KJV

Are you feeling lonely? Loneliness is a feeling that love and intimacy, understanding, friendship and acceptance is missing from your life. Loneliness leads to self pity and helplessness. It can lead to low self esteem, stress, anxiety, depression, weakened immune system, heart disease and other ailments. Some people try to cure their loneliness with drugs, alcohol, sex and other negative pursuits which aggravate  their problems. But the cure for loneliness is to find God.

In 1 Kings 19:1-18, we read about Elijah, one of the greatest prophets who at one time was full of discouragement, despair and loneliness. He even called upon God to take his life. God came to Elijah and relaxed him through sleep and nourishment; he got him other godly people to fellowship with, receive encouragement from, and to help him in his work.  God also showed him His faithful presence like a gentle whisper. God is always with us, to help us. We are never alone.
