It is Possible

“ …. With God all things are possible” Matthew 19:26 NIV

Jesus told a rich young man that if he wanted to be saved, he should sell his property, and give everything to the poor. The young man would not, and went away grieved. The disciples obviously understood his position for they asked in astonishment,” Who then can be saved?”

The desire for riches has great power to deceive and divert people from the way that leads to eternal life. Jesus told the disciples that it was harder for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of heaven. (Mark 10:25)

As humans we have many earthly desires that keep us from following Jesus. Many are not necessarily evil in themselves, but they become stumbling blocks when we let our desire for them control us.  We need to change our attitude and consider those things which are of eternal value, for like Jesus said, “   What good is it for a man to gain the whole world and yet forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:36

Walk with Jesus. He will make it possible for you to do all things for the Glory of God.

“Experience had quickly taught her that she could not survive the storms without the anchor of the constraining love of Christ and what she called the "Rock-counsciousness" of the promise given her, "He goeth before.” ― Elisabeth Elliot, A Chance to Die: The Life and Legacy of Amy Carmichael

Jacob was driven by many things and persisted through hook or crook to get them. This way he got the rights of a first born son from his brother Esau, wrested blessings from an angel of the Lord, and got to have the beautiful Rachel as his wife.

What drives you? Many of our actions are driven by materialism; need for approval; the search for pleasure; fear of death, judgment or taking risks; guilt from past mistake and failures; resentment and anger to those who have hurt us; jealousy and envy; love of a particular man or woman; and so on. The problem with such pursuits is that they often lead to disappointments, stress and an unfulfilled life.

It is only when we are driven by the love of God that our lives become meaningful. If we love God and embrace the Holy Spirit, we get the power and will to gladly serve Him and our fellow men, for the rest of our lives and to eternity.
