GOD DID NOT NEED US, BUT HE WANTED US

The creator

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.~(Colossians1:16 N.I.V)

There is a lot of talk about love in February. People go to great extents to look for, find, and maintain romantic love. Many feel left out, unwanted and  unloved. Others hold on to unhealthy relationships because of their neediness. They fail to recognize that they need to seek love as a complete person; acting with discernment in choosing the companionship of others to add value to their existence.  They fail to seek, recognize and feel the greater love that is always there for them; God's unfailing love which completes them; as the love of fellow human beings never can.

Because of God's power to create and his immense love, he chose to make us. Not because he needed us, but just because he desired it. "God is love. He didn’t need us. But he wanted us. And that is the most amazing thing". ~ Rick Warren. God wanted us to seek and find him and have fellowship with him. " The God Who produced and formed the world and all things in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade shrines. Neither is He served by human hands, as though He lacked anything, for it is He Himself Who gives life and breath and all things to all [people]. And He made from one [common origin, one source, one blood] all nations of men to settle on the face of the earth, having definitely determined [their] allotted periods of time and the fixed boundaries of their habitation (their settlements, lands, and abodes), So that they should seek God, in the hope that they might feel after Him and find Him, although He is not far from each one of us".(Acts 17: 24-28 AMP)

Let us appreciate God's love. It is always with us, no matter the status of our relationships with others.

“We should be astonished at the goodness of God, stunned that He should bother to call us by name, our mouths wide open at His love, bewildered that at this very moment we are standing on holy ground.” Brennan Manning
