Chains

"And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan". Leviticus 25:10 E.S.V

Do you know the story of "God's boxes" ?

I have in my hands two boxes which God gave me to hold. He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box, and all your joys in the gold."

I heeded His words, and in the two boxes both my joys and sorrows I stored. But though the gold became heavier each day, the black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black, I wanted to find out why. And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole which my sorrows had fallen out by. I showed the hole to God, and mused, "I wonder where my sorrows could be." He smiled a gentle smile and said, "My child, they're all here with me."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes. Why the gold, and the black with the hole?  "My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings, The black is for you to let go."

The year of jubilee is a time for celebration as people receive back what they had lost, and return to the clan of God. Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." (Luke 4:18-19)

Have you lost your joy? Reclaim it by letting go the sorrows and everything else that keeps you captive. And as far as it depends on you, forgive others and you will be set free. Let go, and let God. Claim today the freedom from all oppression and God's favor.
