The Universe and the Maker

Big Bang

“In the beginning God Created the Heavens and the Earth” (Genesis 1:1 N.I.V)

Both Scientists and Christians believe that the universe had a beginning. However while Christians believe in a creator, the most prevalent scientific theory is that of the Big Bang.

According to scientists, our universe sprang into existence around 13.7 billion years ago. Prior to this, there was an infinitesimally small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something - a singularity. . This singularity inflated (the "Big Bang"), expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it. The singularity didn't appear in space; rather, space began inside of the singularity. Prior to the singularity, nothing existed, not space, time, matter, or energy - nothing.

So where and in what did the singularity appear if not in space? Science does not tell us. Nor does it explain when or where it came from, why it's here, or even where it is.

Why then are the scientists sure that God did not cause the universe to happen, in his own time, to his perfect design and for his own reasons?

Are you convinced that God is the maker of the universe and that you are the product of this creation?

Cool“Every song has a composer, every book has an author, every car has a maker, every painting has a painter, and every building has a builder. So it isn't irrational to take this simple logic a little further and say that nature must have had a Maker. It would be irrational to believe that it made itself”. Ray Comfort
