Alive, Active and Sharper Than Any Double-Edged Sword

“Take …the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”. (Ephesians 6:17 NIV)

Do you have the Word of the Lord in memory so that you can counter every temptation that comes your way? The Word is the ultimate authority. It was there in the beginning and created the world and the universe. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John1:1-5)

Jesus effectively countered Satan by quoting the Word. According to Matthew 4: 4 Jesus said, ““It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God"".

Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."If you want to please God you cannot compromise with the world. Every moment you have to keep on fighting any wayward thoughts and inclinations and also defending the right position And there is no better way than looking to the word of God to guide you and act for you; to make the enemy flee, and leave you to have peace.
