The Shield of Faith

“In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” (Ephesians 6:16. H.C.S.V)

You always need to have the protective shield of faith about you because, “…aggressors are always quick to attack those who have no means of defense”. Christine de Pizan. The blood of Jesus is the best protection against all attacks by the enemy. We are helpless without him.

Sun Tzu, the writer of the art of war said the following:

“. ...an army avoids strength and strikes weakness”

“Invincibility lies in the defense; the possibility of victory in the attack”

“Therefore, the skillful commander takes up a position in which he cannot be defeated and misses no opportunity to master his enemy”

“… what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy's strategy”

“Therefore I say: "Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril”.

Satan is most likely to attack your areas of weakness. But beware, your self confidence could be your weakness. You can only be invincible if your defense is Jesus. “For he wins his victories without erring; he conquers an enemy already defeated” Sun Tzu.. Satan was unable to defeat Jesus in all his trials and temptations. You need to scatter the enemy constantly through prayer and reading the word of God. But do you know the enemy’s strategy? Do you know yourself? Do you know the power of Christ in you? Satan’s strategy includes doubting the love and faithfulness of God, , hopelessness, loneliness, pride. But if you are in Christ, he will win all your battles for you. He is the mighty defender, who can never be defeated. "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him." Psalm 91:15
