A Jealous God

Fire

“Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God”. Exodus 34:14

A prosperous man from a small town was so enamored with his success that he quipped, “What is the difference between God and a man with two buses?” Well, he got the answer barely a month later when one by one his two precious buses were grounded.

What false gods are you depending on? Is it your money or position that you expect to always work for you? Do you think that without a particular person in the seat of power you cannot thrive? Do you only live for your family, or to pursue pleasure? Are you always congratulating yourself? Always remember to humble yourself and give glory to God who made all that you have possible, and the one who is able to change any situation. Isaiah 42:8 says "I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols”. The Bible also says, “For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God” (Deuteronomy 4.24). Let us always remember that the Lord Jehovah is Qanna, exceedingly jealous of his deity and sovereignty as per the warning in Jeremiah 25:6, “… do not provoke me to anger with what your hands have made. Then I will not harm you."
