God is to be found where you are

“But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 4:29 NIV)

The Lord is always with you and finding him is becoming aware of him: to focus on him. Some find the Lord as they listen to sermons in church; others at home in the distress of sickness and other troubles, while others find him at work even amid the busy schedules and inter office conflicts. The Lord can be found in tragedy and pain and also in joy and fulfillment. He can be found as people struggle for leadership, power, freedom and peace. And he can be found in a child’s smile or a stranger’s concern. He can be found in a new rose bud, or a beautiful sunset, and even in the ruins of an earthquake. God manifests himself in all situations. What we require is to seek him earnestly wherever we are, whatever we are doing. We always need his involvement and support.
