The Great Promise

“No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you”. (Joshua 1:5 N.I.V)

God gives a promise to all people who walk with him in faith, “I will be with you.”  He appeared to Isaac and told him, “…, "I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bless you ..." (Genesis 26:24). He said to Moses, “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."(Deuteronomy 31:8) And as Joshua took on the mantle of taking the people of Israel to Canaan the Lord assured him, “I will never leave you or forsake you.”( Joshua 1:5).

The LORD will fight for us and protect us. He said to Gideon, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together."(Judges 6:1). He had assured Abraham,” "…Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward."(Genesis 15:1).

How do you get the Lord to be with you. As Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well, “But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life." John 4:14. This is spring that nobody can stop up because, Christ holds the “the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open” (Revelation 3:7). He has placed before you an open door that no one can shut. He knows you have little strength, yet you have kept his word and have not denied his name. So he promised to be with you until the end of time.
