The Wounded Warrior

Amputee

“…and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Luke 6:19 N.I.V)

“If people tell you, you cannot do something, do it anyway”. Brendan Marrocco a 26 year old American soldier who had lost all his four limbs in an Iraq roadside bomb said after receiving a double arm transplant. Even though recovery is expected to take several years, with intense therapy taking six hours a day every day, he hopes to be able to drive a car and play sports. There are other cases of such successful surgery and doctors said the nerves in Marrocco's arms will regenerate one inch per month and that he will eventually have full use of them. He already uses legs prosthesis to help him walk. He calls himself “the wounded warrior.”

Does this story encourage you? Are you wounded? There is a big potential of strength in each one of us and we can tap into it for healing of both our emotional and physical wounds. I do not know the source of this former soldier’s faith, but what about yours? God can do the impossible for even the most hopeless of situations. In Christ, there is great abundance of healing just waiting to be tapped.
