There is a Light at the end of the Tunnel

light at the end of the tunnel

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”. (Psalm 23:4 E.S.V)

The movie Rocky 2 is about a retired boxer 60 who goes back to fighting in order to win back respect and buoy depleted finances. In the movie Rocky says this to his son, "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. . It's How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not point fingers and blame other people. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that!"

Being unemployed and down on finances is one of the most distressing experiences in life because the world defines people by what they do and their purchasing power. For those who find themselves in this situation, the Bible tells us in Hebrews 12:12 “So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees”. Where there is a valley, there are also hills. There is always hope and possibilities. You should never give up but strive daily to make progress no matter how small the steps appear. Take inspiration from what you aspire to be and not be bogged down thinking about the current conditions which can be quite depressing. Keep on believing in yourself and be determined, persistent and focused on your goals. Above all, have faith, in God and his promises. Relief will happen in His time.

“When walking through the 'valley of shadows,' remember a shadow is cast by a Light”. Austin O'Malley
