Resuscitation

by Pam Ford Davis

CPR

“Jesus took the child's hand and said to her, "Talitha, koum!" which means, "Little girl, I'm telling you to get up!"(GOD’S WORD)

The Red Cross certified me in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) when I was working in childcare ministries. I recall the astute observation of one of my instructors. Some are better suited to call 911. That would be me. Both the person administering CPR and the one calling for an ambulance work together in the critical moments after the victim stops breathing.

Christ used His powers of touch and word to resuscitate victims. "He brought the child's father and mother and his three followers into the room with him. Then Jesus held the girl's hand and said to her, 'Talitha, koum!' (This means 'Little girl, I tell you to stand up!") The girl immediately stood up and began walking (Mark 5:40b-42a ERV)." Jesus raised the dead!

“In a world where the dead have returned to life, the word" trouble' loses much of its meaning.”  Dennis Hopper
